New study program Pharmacy at the Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar

In order to meet the needs of the labor market and better employability of graduates, the Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar is turning to launching new deficient study programs. Thus, this year, the first generation of students is enrolled at the University in the university study program Pharmacy. This study program will begin in the academic year 2020/2021 and is designed to offer those teaching contents that will enable potential students to acquire appropriate knowledge, skills and competencies in this field. Upon completion of the integrated five-year study, students acquire the academic or professional title of Master of Pharmacy (Mr. Ph.D.). Duration of studies and professional title acquired by the student in the study of Pharmacy is in line with the Maltese Declaration based on EU Directive 2005/36 / EC, which specifies the duration of studies and mandatory practice as well as the necessary conditions for recognition of professional qualifications. According to the data of the Agency for Labor and Employment of BiH, the profession of graduate pharmacist is one of the most sought after and deficient professions in the last five years in our country.

Future graduate students of pharmacy will be able to use their acquired knowledge and competencies in employment in BiH and abroad, such as:

• work with medicines in public and private pharmacies,
• work in the pharmaceutical industry,
• work in biochemical laboratories,
• work in research, production-technological and control-analytical laboratories,
• drug sales,
• drug registration,
• drug agencies,
• drug control institutes, and in other public health institutions and private health institutions.
